Hibbing, MN – Each semester, my Public Speaking class produces a student news broadcast about the Hibbing campus of Minnesota North. You may view “Channel One, Channel Fun” at this link. Students plan every aspect of the newscast, choosing interesting stories and fanning out across campus to interview people and gather information. Below are a few pictures of our students in action.

This year, the Hibbing College Foundation gave the Communication Department a generous grant for new equipment for this assignment, including a professional camera, teleprompter, lights and microphones. The equipment arrived in the midst of our work, so we didn’t have it all ready in time, but students got to use the camera and lights. Future classes will have access to even more options. Thanks to the college foundation!
