Minnesota North Itasca Campus to host Banned Books Event

“A worth banning is a book worth reading,” writes Isaac Asimov.

October 5-11 has been declared Banned Books Week by the American Library Association and Amnesty International.

At a time when free speech and free expression seem more directly under fire than ever, let’s come together to exercise our right to speak and write freely.

The Liberal Arts Faculty at Minnesota North College – Itasca Campus will host an open reading for faculty, students, and community members to share and listen to others read passages from books they cherish that have been banned, censored, or removed from libraries and school curriculum.

The reading will take place on Monday, October 6, at 7:00 pm in McMahon Student Center on the Itasca campus. This is a free event. All are welcome to attend, participate, or both.
