OUR MISSION

Our mission is to invest in student success and our community’s future through scholarships and college development. We are honored to be able to enhance our students’ educational experiences in a variety of ways. Whether through campus grants, scholarship dollars, campus-wide cookouts, or fundraising events, we believe each and every avenue to improving our students’ education is worthwhile and helpful in their success.

OUR BOARD

The Rainy River Community College Foundation is made up of 13 members, 1 non-voting faculty member, and 2 staff members. All of our board members bring a unique professional and/or educational background to our foundation. We have representation from local, state, and international financial institutions, law firms, businesses, and higher education organizations.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION BASICS

First, a student must submit an application for admission to Minnesota North College – Rainy River Campus. After a student has applied for admission, they can fill out the scholarship form by clicking on the “Apply for Scholarship” button below. Students will also need to submit high school transcripts and/or college transcripts if applicable. When a student applies for scholarship to Rainy River through our online application, they are automatically reviewed for any and all eligible scholarships (academic and named scholarships) offered by the Foundation/College. There are no athletic scholarships offered at Rainy River.

Various scholarships ranging from $200 – $6,000 are available to Rainy River students. Scholarships are provided by generous friends of the College, organizations, businesses, individuals, alumni, and the Rainy River Community College Foundation.

To be eligible, students need to:

  1. Apply for Admission to Minnesota North College – Rainy River Campus
  2. Complete the online Scholarship Application, below
  3. Have a high school and/or college GPA of 2.0 or higher, or have a GED. Submit all high school and college (if applicable) transcripts, or GED to:

NOTE:

All completed scholarship applications, including all necessary transcripts, need to be received by Minnesota North College – Rainy River Campus by the following dates to be eligible for scholarship review:

SPRING SEMESTER 2023: Final Deadline – January 13, 2023

FALL SEMESTER 2023: Priority Deadline – April 3, 2023. Final Deadline – August 15, 2023

*All complete applications, including transcripts, received by the Priority Deadline will be the first applications to be reviewed and awarded. All completed applications received after this date will be reviewed and awarded on a rolling basis.

**All completed applications, including transcripts, received by the Final Deadline will be reviewed and awarded before the beginning of the term. Any applications received after this deadline will not be reviewed for scholarships for that term. There is no Priority Deadline for Spring scholarships.

CRITERIA TO APPLY

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until August 26th. Scholarships are not guaranteed and are awarded depending on amount of applications received and remaining scholarship dollars to be awarded.

To be eligible for scholarships, students must:

  • apply for admission to Minnesota North College – Rainy River Campus
  • have a minimum 2.0 GPA based on high school or college transcripts
  • fill out the Scholarship Application and submit all high school and college transcripts as applicable

NOTIFICATION OF AWARD

Students will be notified of a scholarship award about 4-6 weeks after they have submitted their scholarship application and all required documents. Award letters are sent through the postal service and will be posted to the students E-Services account.
