Make the Most of Your Learning

Need help with your academics? Stop by the Academic Resource Center (Room L126) near the library!

Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 4:30 pm, subject to change

We offer a wide range of services including free peer and professional tutoring, tutor-facilitated study groups, supplemental instruction (SI), assisted labs, and study skills workshops. Our Tutoring Coordinator and Peer Tutors hold one-on-one and group sessions with students for walk-in appointments, scheduled sessions, and weekly study tables.

To schedule an appointment with a Peer Tutor or the Tutoring Coordinator, please book your appointment here.

While tutors may not be available for every subject, a visit with the Tutoring Coordinator can help begin the process of finding a tutor best suited for your needs. The Academic Resource Center has Professional and Peer Tutors for the following subjects:

  • English (Fundamentals, Integrated Reading and Writing, Composition I & II, Technical Writing, and Intro to Creative Writing)
  • Geography/Geographic Information Systems
  • Mathematics (Liberal Arts Math, Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calc, and Statistics)
  • Writing for all subjects

Writing Tutors are an excellent resource for writers at any level or at any stage in the writing process. Please remember that Writing Tutors do not provide an editing or proofreading service. They will help you put what you learn into practice and will work with you to improve your own proofreading and editing skills.
