Orientation
New student orientation is Monday August 24th. Please see details below for your specific academic program.
Practical Nursing Orientation is held at the Itasca Campus on Wednesday, August 19th and is mandatory for all PN students. Orientation begins at 9:00 AM and will conclude at 4:00 PM. Practical Nursing orientation is required for students enrolled in the 1-year Practical Nursing program (not pre-nursing students). Pre-nursing students will attend New Student Orientation on Monday, August 24th—See the “New Students/PSEO” drop down below.
Welcome! Fall Semester 2026 begins Monday, August 24th with New Student Orientation. All new students except Practical Nursing Students and online students who cannot make it to campus will participate in New Student Orientation from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Please plan to arrive before 9:00 AM so our staff and faculty can direct you to first sessions.
Orientation Schedule
- 8:00 a.m. – PSEO Student Orientation: Required for new PSEO Students only (Chucker Auditorium in Davies Hall).
Following this session, PSEO students will attend the New Student Orientation starting at 9:00 a.m.
[PSEO students are high school students taking college courses at Itasca. All new PSEO students are required to attend the mandatory 8:00 a.m. PSEO Orientation Session.] - 9:00 a.m. – Let’s Chat Sessions with Itasca Faculty
- 10:30 a.m. – Choose an Activity (kayaking, bowling, bog walk, disc golf, mini golf, yard games, meditation, coloring, and more!)
- 11:50 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Picnic Lunch + Information Booths with Live Music
- 12:30 p.m. – Afternoon Info Sessions – Choose 2-4 sessions on technology on campus, study abroad, campus and community resources, and more.
- 2:00 p.m. – End of Orientation
Monday Classes: Monday classes that begin at 4:00 p.m. or later will be held on August 24. Classes that begin earlier than 4:00 p.m. will not be held. Please check your personal email the week before Orientation for your 9:00 a.m. room assignment. If you do not have access to your email, we will direct you when you arrive on campus.
Online Students: New students taking courses entirely online are NOT required to attend on campus orientation, but are more than welcome to join us on campus that day. You will have access to an Online Orientation course within your D2L. This course will be available for you starting Monday, August 24th and will have new student information. Please take time to work through the D2L course.

Registration
New Student Registration
After you have applied and been accepted, schedule your New Student Registration Appointment here (in-person and virtual options available):
New Student Registration Appointments (all students except PSEO)
*New PSEO applicants will receive an email with a link to schedule a class registration appointment after all required forms and documents are received.

Returning Student Registration
Make an appointment (Virtual or in-person) with a counselor/advisor by calling Student Services at 218-322-2320 or schedule online here (scroll down to “Advising Staff”, click “Itasca” and then “Book an Appointment” under your advisor’s name.
International Students
Please work with International Admissions Specialist Bill Marshall at william.marshall@minnesotanorth.edu on your admission requirements for Minnesota North College.
