Engel’s participation in the race is not only a personal challenge but also a way to promote health and wellness among his colleagues and students at Minnesota North College’s Rainy River campus. He hopes that his participation in the race will inspire others to take up physical challenges and prioritize their health and wellbeing.

In addition to promoting health and wellness, Engel’s participation in the race will also raise money for the Rainy River Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides scholarships and educational opportunities to students on the Rainy River campus located in International Falls, Minnesota. All funds raised from the race will be donated to the foundation to support its programs and initiatives.

“I am honored to be participating in the Longhorn 500 and to be supporting the Rainy River Foundation,” said Engel. “I believe that promoting health and wellness and providing educational opportunities to students are both important causes that need our support. I hope that my participation in the race will help raise awareness and funds for these causes.”
