Ready to register? Schedule a registration appointment with your assigned counselor or advisor. Appointments are available in person or virtually. 

To book an appointment online: 

1. Visit the Academic Advising webpage. 
2. Scroll down to “Advising Staff” and select “Vermilion.” 
3. Find your assigned advisor or counselor and click “Book an Appointment” under their name.

New student registration for the Spring 2027 semester and/or Summer 2027 semester begins November 16, 2026. To schedule a registration appointment, available in person or virtually, with your assigned counselor or advisor, complete the online Welcome to Minnesota North D2L Quick Learn module.  This should only take you 15-20 minutes to complete and will provide useful information about registering at Minnesota North. 

Please note, you must complete this module before registering. 

“Welcome to Minnesota North” Quick Learn Module:  

1. Go to:  D2L Course Login Page 
2. Login using your Star ID and password (unsure what your Star ID and password are? Access help at the Star ID Help Page. 
3. Once logged in, on your D2L home screen, Click on:  Welcome to Minnesota North 
4. Follow the prompts within the class to complete the Quick Learn module 
5. Once completed, you will be able to book a registration appointment through the course. 

Senior citizens who are legal residents of Minnesota and meet the age requirements may enroll in courses at Minnesota North College on a space-available basis, after all tuition-paying students have been accommodated. To qualify, individuals must be 62 years or older at the start of the term, or 60 years or older if receiving a railroad retirement annuity.

Eligible senior citizens may choose to pay the reduced senior citizen tuition rate.

  o Sign-up for your Academic Group for Let’s Chat Sessions with Faculty
• 9:00 a.m. – Welcome & Main Session in Theater
  o Sit with your academic group (seats will be marked)
• 10:30 a.m. – Let’s Chat Sessions with Vermilion Faculty
  o Your group will be led to your group’s assigned meeting location
• 12:00 p.m. – Lunch in Cafeteria (meal plan or money required); Student ID printing/pickup
• 1:00 p.m. – Athletic and Student Life Breakouts
  o ALL Student Athlete Meeting with Athletic Director and Coaches – Theater – FA105
  o All Students not in Athletics: meet in cafeteria courtyard for Student Life Activities
• 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. – Afternoon Sessions
  o Technology, Log-In, Textbook Ordering, Financial Aid Steps & Plan for Payment Assistance in CS107
  o Continue with Activities with Student Life and Academic Program Breakouts with Faculty
