The Center

The Academic Resource Center is Vermilion’s Center for Academic Excellence.

Vision: The Academic Resource Center (The Center) provides a supportive study and learning environment for all Vermilion students.

Mission: Our mission is to help students become independent, successful learners who can achieve their educational goals.

We offer a wide range of services including:

  • assisted labs for coursework
  • professional and peer tutoring
  • supplemental instruction (SI)
  • tutor-facilitated study groups

In addition, we provide resources such as:

  • course specific resume examples
  • Vermilion student email, Brightspace D2L, and StarID computer network log-in assistance
  • scholarship application review

Our primary purpose in the Center is to help students become independent, successful learners who can achieve their educational goals.

If you are a current student, you can access the Center’s online resources by logging into your Brightspace D2L account and entering the Vermilion Academic Resource Center course. It’s here that you can also access free, online tutoring support from Tutor.com.
