Student Clubs & Organizations provide an opportunity for students to get involved on campus, develop connections with fellow students, and gain leadership experience, while enriching the college experience for all students.
Student Life
At Rainy River we foster learning by surrounding our students with an environment rich in natural wonder.
The eighty-acre campus has an eight building complex connected with heated walkways enclosing a courtyard. The grounds feature an 18 hole disc golf course, a lighted cross country skiing and hiking trail, and three ponds edged by decks and walkways.
The Student Life program at the Rainy River Campus is designed to enhance the overall development of the individual student. We believe, “the greater amount of student involvement results in a greater gain in learning and personal development.” (Astin A.W., 1984)
Our program extends the learning environment from the classroom to the campus community and contributes to the pride that can be shared by students, faculty, staff and the surrounding area.
The Student Life Committee is comprised of the Director of Student Life, the Athletic Director, and five students appointed by the Student Senate. The committee is responsible for allocating funds for everything from athletic travel budgets, to comedians, to a pizza party.
Rainy River Clubs
Mission Statement: The National Honors Society for community college students, Phi Theta Kappa, recognizes students who maintain a high academic standing and who have demonstrated leadership and service learning in the college and community. Eligibility requirements are a 3.25 or higher cumulative G.P.A. and completion of at least 12 semester hours. PTK students are recognized at graduation and this distinction is noted on college transcripts.

Make things happen! The Student Senate is the official recognized voice of the students and therefore makes the group a vitally important organization. As the bridge group between the student body and the administration, the senate ensures that the college is meeting the needs of its students. The senate makes change happen; it shapes campus life at Rainy River.
Leadership skills are skills you will use forever. As a student representative, you will meet the administration and even state legislative officials. They want to hear your agenda. So run for senate and be a catalyst for progress!
Each student at Rainy River has the opportunity to participate in LeadMN conferences. At the conferences, students develop leadership skills, advocacy experience, networking skills and much more!

LeadMN (Formerly known as the Minnesota State College Student Association)
The Student Nurses Association welcomes all pre-nursing and nursing students as members. The group fosters professional development for future nurses. Opportunities for leadership roles and educational events are provided. The club also contributes to various non-profit organizations in the community through fund-raising and volunteer efforts. Group members hold social events for students to help relax and re-energize throughout the semester.
The Student Nurses Association welcomes students who are interested in nursing, pre-nursing students and/or in the Practical Nursing or Associate of Science in Nursing Program.
The leadership of the SNA on each campus changes each year. If you would like more information about this club or would like to get in touch with the campus SNA president, please contact the Site Coordinator.

Designed for the beginner and advanced player alike, with novice red tees, intermediate white tees and advanced blue tees. Plays around the Rainy River campus, with the Front 9 holes playing in mostly open spaces, and the Back 9 holes playing mostly through the woods.
Recognition: A Special thanks goes out to the Koochiching County Board of Commissioners, International Falls City Council, Rainy River Community College Foundation, Rainy River Student Life Committee, and all the local volunteers and students that helped make this idea a reality. A special token of appreciation goes out to Chris Beyer course designer and lead volunteer.
