Application Process

New Students

Star ID and Password    

  • Before you begin the application, you will be prompted to create your Star ID and password.  
  • Required Application Fee    
  • For your application to be processed, Minnesota North requires a non-refundable $20 application fee. This fee can be paid online after you apply, through your E-Services account, or by sending the payment directly to:

  • Submit Required Documentation    
  • High School Transcripts or GED Transcripts    
  • Contact your high school to learn how to request an official copy of your high school transcript and have it sent to the admissions office. You will need to send a transcript at the time of application and an official final copy after graduation.

  • College Transcripts   
  • Students that have attended college previously, are transferring into Minnesota North, or have college credit classes while in high school need to send an official college transcript. Contact the college that you attended or received credits from to find out their process for getting this transcript to Minnesota North:

  • Immunization Records
    Applicants must supply documentation (month and year) of immunization against mumps, measles, rubella, and tetanus. This requirement is waived if you graduated from a Minnesota High School in 1997 or later. Click here for the Immunization Form.  

Returning Students

    • Change of information
      1. Students will need to update any records that have changed since their last date of attendance. This may include immunization records, change of address information, new transcripts, or other required documents.
  • Sign-up For College Orientation and Registration Session
    • College Orientation and Registration Sessions are designed for students to complete their pre-college process and become a Minnesota North Student.
    • During an Orientation and Registration session, students will be appropriately placed in courses, get registered for classes at the campus of their choice, have an opportunity to tour the campus, meet with faculty, and learn about Minnesota North.
  • Additional Enrollment Steps
    • While you are completing the application process, there are additional  steps that students may choose to complete:
      1. Apply for Financial Aid
        • Students can fill out and complete their financial aid through the online FAFSA. This can be done anytime after October 1.
      2. Apply for Scholarships
      3. Apply for Housing
      4. Apply for TRIO
  • Pay Your Tuition
    • Payment of tuition and housing MUST be made before the start of the academic semester. Students who have not paid or made appropriate payment arrangements (apply for financial aid or set-up a payment plan) may be dropped from courses.
    • To help you meet your educational expenses, we are proud to offer the Minnesota North Payment Plan – a convenient, interest free, payment plan. This is NOT a loan program. You have no debt, there are no interest or finance charges and there is no credit check.

Postsecondary Enrollment (PSEO)

Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) enables eligible Minnesota high school sophomores (limited basis), juniors, and seniors in public, nonpublic, or home schools to take college classes for high school or college credits. Visit our PSEO page below to learn more about your options.
