TRIO Upward Bound – Math Science

The TRIO Upward Bound Math and Science (UBMS) located at the Mesabi Range – Virginia Campus is a specialized Upward Bound focused on fostering the math and science skills of its participants.

What high schools does TRIO Upward Bound Math and Science serve?

The TRIO Upward Bound Math and Science program provides year-round academic support services to prepare high school students to successfully transition into college with a goal of completing post-secondary education. Mesabi Upward Bound serves students at these high schools: Cherry, ERATS, Rock Ridge, Mesabi East, Mt. Iron-Buhl, Northeast Range School, Memorial High School

Students are able to receive the support they need to be successful.

Upward Bound Math and Science also serves high school students from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor’s degree; and high school students from families who meet federal TRIO income guidelines. The goal of Upward Bound Math and Science is to help students recognize and develop their potential to excel in math and science and to encourage them to pursue post-secondary degrees in STEM careers.
