Program Overview
The Entry-Level Welding Technology Program is a 33 credit, 2 semester program with a diploma for the successful student graduate. The Advanced-Level Welding Technology Program is an additional 32 credit, 2 semester program that is optional upon completion of the Entry Level Program. Both evening and day sections of the courses are available to suit the needs of all.

The Welding program has flexible learning options- offering in-person classes during the day and evening at the Mesabi Range Eveleth Campus, day classes at The Forge in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
Learn foundational skills for a welding career.
In the Entry-Level program, welding and cutting process principles, theories, and safety needs are studied and practiced in the welding labs. In the Advanced-Level program, students work with CAD and CNC software which are utilized in welding labs. The welding and cutting processes are applied on structural and tubular products made of various metals, manufacturing techniques are instructed.
We’re accredited.
Our welding program is recognized by the American Welding Society (AWS) as an Educational Institution Member and certified as an AWS Accredited Test Facility. Graduates are given the opportunity to test to become AWS Certified Welders.

Career options.
Some of the jobs our graduates have gone on to are: welder, fitter, welder helper, weld shop supervisor, welder/lead-man, welding apprentice trainer, boilermaker, pipe-fitter, welding robot operator, sheet metal worker, millwright/welder, quality assurance manager, welding inspector, plant superintendent, welding business owner and more.
