Learn the ropes of heavy equipment mechanics.

Heavy equipment mechanics repair all parts of large trucks, buses, construction and earth moving equipment. They inspect, test and repair heavy equipment systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical.

The Diesel and Heavy Equipment program is AED accredited. (Associated Equipment Distributors).

The Diesel and Heavy Equipment program provides a modern, well-equipped diesel shop. Students learn theory and application of 4-cycle engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, fuel injection, turbochargers, clutches, heavy equipment, recordkeeping, power transmissions, and steering, brakes and tires.

A variety of job opportunities.

Diesel mechanics and heavy equipment mechanics secure jobs with road construction companies, trucking companies, the mining industry, bus lines and logging and diesel equipment dealers. Government agencies hire mechanics to maintain their diesel-powered equipment.

Gain hands-on experience.

Students get hands-on experience with VR and regular simulators.

This program also has a built-in internship with local industry partners to set up students to enter the workforce right out of this program.
