The Department of Iron Range Resources & Rehabilitation and Minnesota North College are saddened to announce the loss of our colleague and friend, Roy Smith.  Roy passed away peacefully today after a short but courageous battle with cancer.  Roy’s advocacy for our region has been unmatched, and he believed the Iron Range’s best days are ahead of us. 

The messages and well wishes sent over the past few weeks from people around the region have been greatly appreciated by Roy, Suzy, Cheyenne, and family. We continue to keep Roy’s family in our thoughts during this difficult time. An obituary will be published in the coming days.
