Minnesota North is compatible with federal and state grants, loans, veterans benefits, work-study, Free Tuition Programs, and more. There are many opportunities to get aid to pay for college. Talking to our admissions team will help determine what you’re eligible for and where you can save on tuition.
Apply for scholarships.
Scholarships are money to be used for educational expenses that you don’t have to pay back. Scholarships are available to eligible students through generous donations from individuals, alumni, businesses, and foundations. When you complete the online scholarship application form, you will automatically be matched to any eligible scholarships.
North Star Promise
Beginning in fall 2024, the North Star Promise Scholarship will create a tuition-free pathway for eligible Minnesota residents. If you’re considering Minnesota North but worried about cost, the North Star Promise program may cover the full cost of your tuition & fees.

Beginning in fall 2024, the North Star Promise (NSP) Scholarship program will create a tuition and fee-free pathway to higher education for eligible Minnesota residents at eligible institutions as a “last-dollar” program by covering the balance of tuition and fees remaining after other scholarships, grants, stipends and tuition waivers have been applied.

Minnesota North College tuition is frozen through Spring 2025. That means you can confidently plan for the cost of attending Minnesota North. Our tuition is already a great value plus we offer a variety of ways to reduce or eliminate the amount you have to pay. Minnesota North also offers a Z-Degree pathway– this is a degree program that exclusively uses course resources that are no cost to students, such as open textbooks or printed, online or multimedia open educational resources.
