From celebrating the work of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., to marking Black History month, recent events highlighted the importance of diversity at Minnesota North College and in the broader community.

The Minnesota North Mesabi Range-Virginia campus celebrated Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day on Jan. 20. Their special event featured several speakers and was featured on WDIO News.

On Feb. 18 and 19, speaker and historian Carl Crawford held several virtual programs with Minnesota North students, faculty and staff. His presentation was called “Black History in American History.” It explored the many ways we have been taught about Black History Moth and the significance of why that is important today.
