Program Overview

The Wilderness and Park Management program focuses on the conservation and recreation on federal, state, and local wild lands. Students work hands-on in fields directly related to obtaining an outdoors skills based career and will develop long-term management plans for wilderness settings, park settings, and general outdoor environments.

Graduates of the Wilderness and Park Management program have opportunities for a variety of careers in both public and private employers. Job titles include Field Crew Worker, Interpreter, Maintenance Worker, Not-for-Profit Conservation Worker, Environmental Educator, Parks and Trails Worker, Buildings and Grounds Worker, Recreation Technician, Local, State and Federal Park Ranger, Wilderness Technician, and Forestry Technician (Fire, Wilderness, Recreation).
