Retro Style, Real Impact.
This fall, students in our Intro to Economics class at the Itasca Campus are launching a real-world business venture — and it’s all for a great cause. As part of their hands-on learning experience, students are tasked with multiple aspects of the project, from cost analysis, implementing a pricing strategy, sales and profitability projections as well as marketing. As part of their hands-on learning experience, students are managing every aspect of this project: from marketing and sales to budgeting and customer service. The business centers around selling custom-designed T-shirts, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the Itasca Campus Food Pantry, helping support students in need and strengthening our campus community.
Honoring Legacy Through Learning.
By combining classroom learning with community impact, this project reflects the values Bill McBride championed: education, service, and pride in our campus. The centerpiece of this project? A retro-style T-shirt designed in recognition of Bill McBride, a beloved long-time teacher and coach at Itasca. His dedication to students and the campus community inspired generations — and now, his legacy is inspiring a new generation of student leaders.
The Shirt: Retro Roots, Campus Pride.
